China’s manufacturing sector has been transformed through opening-up and innovation

In his congratulatory letter to the 2019 world manufacturing conference, Chinese President xi jinping pointed out that all countries should strengthen cooperation and mutual learning, jointly seize the opportunities of the new round of scientific and industrial revolution, enhance the technological innovation capacity of the manufacturing industry, and promote the transformation of the quality, efficiency and driving force of the manufacturing industry. He stressed that China attaches great importance to the development of manufacturing industry, adheres to the innovation-driven development strategy, and takes the high-quality development of manufacturing industry as an important part of building a modern economic system.

China’s achievements in manufacturing cannot be separated from those of the world, and China’s development also benefits the world. Under the background of economic globalization, with the deepening of “One Belt And One Road”, more and more Chinese manufacturing enterprises are deeply integrated into the global industrial chain. China’s high-speed rail, with the world’s highest operating speed and longest operating mileage, is a pretty card. The world bank pointed out in the report “China’s high-speed railway development” that China’s high-speed railway has won high recognition from the international community due to its amazing development speed and excellent strength, and its development experience is worth learning from other countries.

“After the reform and opening up, the CPC central committee took opening up to the outside world as a basic state policy and realized a historic change in China’s relations with the world. The general manufacturing sector has been fully opened up, attracting non-financial foreign direct investment of more than us $2 trillion from 1979 to 2018. “Leading global companies like huawei, haier and CRRC have emerged. High-speed rail, nuclear power and next-generation mobile communications have all gone abroad, and foreign direct investment has grown by leaps and bounds.” Miao wei, minister of industry and information technology, said at a press conference held recently to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

According to statistics, in the early years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, more than 80% of China’s export commodities were primary products. After 2000, manufactured goods rose to more than 90%.

Dongguan is a microcosm of China’s manufacturing transformation and development. Since the 18th national congress of the communist party of China (CPC), China has further accelerated the deep integration of industrialization and it application, and made positive achievements in the development of intelligent manufacturing. Manufacturing has become more digitalized, networked and intelligent, and solid progress has been made in the development of the industrial Internet. Faster integration of the Internet, big data and artificial intelligence into the real economy has laid a solid foundation for China to seize the opportunity of the fourth industrial revolution.

From the “factory of the world” to the innovation highland, Chinese manufacturing is moving towards “made with Chinese wisdom”. While the industrial scale has become the largest in the world, the technological innovation capability of the industrial manufacturing industry has been greatly improved. Miao wei said that with the in-depth implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy in recent years, China has achieved the strategic goal of “taking a place” in major areas and directions. China’s independently developed fuxing high-speed train and the third-generation nuclear power “hualong 1” have reached international advanced levels. Breakthroughs have been made in tiangong, jiaolong, tianyan, wukong, mozi and daji, and a number of leading manufacturers, represented by huawei and CRRC, have emerged. After “2G following and 3G breakthrough”, the mobile communication industry has achieved a historic leap forward of “4G synchronization” and “5G leading”, and the number of patents necessary for 5G standards ranks first in the world. Currently, more than 20 of the world’s 100 most noteworthy ai companies are in China.

At present, China is in a period when a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation are gathering momentum. The new generation of information technology, represented by the Internet, big data and artificial intelligence, is advancing with each passing day. It is certain that with the in-depth development of the new type of industrialization, the continued release of the potential of domestic demand, and the continuous improvement of the market economy, China’s manufacturing industry will enter a new era of higher quality integration into the global economic system.
