Xinyu (simplified Chinese: 新余; traditional Chinese: 新喻; pinyin: Xīnyú) is a prefecture-level city in west-central Jiangxi province.
Xinyu has an area of 3,178 km². It has a four-season, monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate. It can be very hot and rainy in summer.
